So Smart We Are Dumb

Updated: 3 days ago

May the 4th be with you. Only Star War fans get this one. Yes, I know that tomorrow is, Revenge of the 5th.

What does this have to do with today's post? Nothing. Let's move on.

Salvation through works. It has been the King of false theology statements forever. Humanity cannot accept that they have to seek a God who loves them to save them from themselves.

Culture has tried to be as wise as God. (That one makes me chuckle.) It has attempted to eliminate the existence of God, replacing Him with evolution. It is proclaiming they are God, declaring that we will evolve into a perfect utopia. Blah, blah, blah.

Humanity has been for thousands of years declaring that because they are the more brilliant, better, wiser, and more advance incarnation of themselves - they will solve all the problems and fix this world.

(Facepalm here)

We don't have a culture problem; we have a heart problem.

- If you want to change the world, change men's hearts.

Paul wrote in Eph. 3:17, "Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God's love and keep you strong."

As long as we live in sin, we are at war with God. Paul again, "For the sinful nature is always hostile to God. It never did obey God's laws, and it never will" (Rom. 8:7 NLT).

Jesus didn't come to save our way of life or even our planet (see 2 Peter 3:10; Rev 21)

Jesus said in John 18:36, "My Kingdom is not an earthly kingdom. If it were, my followers would fight to keep me from being handed over to the Jewish leaders. But my Kingdom is not of this world."

He came to save you and me. Our solution isn't to cancel what offends us or force people to think a certain way. It is to heal what is broken - our hearts.

Jesus said in John 14:6, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me. (NLT)
