You're exhausted, and you don't know why. That's because every decision you make feels like a life or death decision. You keep forgetting what day it is. That's because your routine, which reminds your brain what day it is, has been derailed. Feelings of sadness or "the blues" seem to come over you like waves. You might start crying for no discernible reason. That's because depression is setting in, don't panic; you're ok. What do you do? Get plenty of rest, exercise, and eat right. You have no idea how much this will help. Surround yourself with people you can talk to. Do not go this alone. Some people are there to listen to you. Others are there to give you sound advice. Got a tough decision, make a call. Distract your brain. Watch a movie like a good comedy, something that will make you laugh. It isn't a sin to allow yourself some joy. If you are at home, laugh with your family. Pray. You can and should unload your heart on God. Let Him know how you feel and what you need. He's listening, He cares, and He isn't going to get upset if your rant. Feed your soul. Read scriptures that will encourage you and give you hope. Let them know that you understand what they are going through. This isn't the end of the world, just the world as we know it. How long will it take for something that looks like "normal" to return? I have no idea. Don't think about it. Right now, we are going to be the best we can be today. Jeremiah 6:16 Thus says the Lord: "Stand by the roads, and look, and ask for the ancient paths, where the good way is; and walk in it, and find rest for your souls. But they said, 'We will not walk in it.' There is a way that God will lead you. Others will not walk that path but trust Him. He knows what you need to do right now. PRAY: Dear Jesus, lead me. AMEN.
