Well, if you haven't caught on. I write Monday and Tuesday blogs before Sunday. Then, on Tuesday, I write from Wednesday through Friday. So, if you were in service last Sunday, you know I didn't get to minister. Instead, the Holy Spirit took over the service and had A LOT to say.
Do you remember the song by Sir Paul McCartney? Let 'Em In? The first two stanzas are "Someone's knockin' at the door, Somebody's ringin' the bell." I can hear the tune in my head now!
There are two questions I want to ask you.
#1 - Are you knocking on God's door? Matthew 7:7-9 7: "Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened. (NLT)
I am all for seeking God, praying, and pouring our hearts to Him. He loves us, listens to us, and responds according to His will.
But?
#2 - Is someone knocking at your door? We all know Revelations 3:20, where Jesus is knocking at the entrance of our hearts. But is anyone else knocking at your door? All through the Bible, I see where we are to care for and help one another. But is that enough?
Acts 2:42 All the believers devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching, and to fellowship, and to sharing in meals (including the Lord's Supper), and to prayer. (Emphasis mine) (NLT)
Fellowship is more than casual participation together. It is deep involvement in a common thing. What is that common thing? Our faith in Christ and love for one another. It isn't easy, but it is necessary.
Dear Jesus, help me to include people in my life that will bless me and that I will bless. AMEN
