There is no sin in taking a moment and stopping the madness. I know that we can become weary in doing good things. (Gal. 6:9)
I also know that life is a battle, and it never stops. Every day is a new opportunity. But God is with you!
So what do you do?
Fight the good fight (2 Tim 4:7). Don’t fight every fight and don’t fight any fight. Fight the good fight. What can you do to protect your heart from evil? What can you do to lead someone to a new life in Christ? What can you do to lead your family closer to Christ?
The battle belongs to the Lord (1 Sam 17). David didn’t defeat Goliath. God did. He simply allowed God to use him to accomplish God’s purpose. David didn’t have anything to gain from fighting. He had everything to gain from honoring God with his life. Remember, the battle you are in - it’s God’s - if you allow Him to lead you and use you through it.
Don’t do it alone. (Ps 23). Especially verse 4 Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me.
Battles get tough and lonely. Don’t think that God has abounded you. He didn’t. He’s right there with you. Sometimes with the battle is heavy, it’s hard to know that He is there - but he will never leave you or give up on you. Deut 31:8
Dear Jesus, I am in the heat of battle. Help me to fight the right battles Your way. AMEN
PS - This Sunday is Dazzling Deserts. I know that you don’t think that the wilderness you are in is all that great. But I will share with you some encouraging truths this Sunday.
