20 Days of Prayer and Fasting - Day 13

Vague Prayers

A Seoul, South Korea, pastor said, “God does not answer vague prayers.”

Then again, if our prayers are so vague, how would we know if He did answer them?

“The more faith you have, the more specific your prayer will be.” Mark Batterson (Amazon and Apple Books

Honi specifically prayed for rain. Then he prayed specifically for the amount of rain needed.

Years ago, a friend was asked to pray for rain during a camping trip. A few hundred people were there, and it was in the middle of a hot and dry summer.

That night it rained. It didn’t just rain; it flooded. The campground, located next to a creek, became a river, and campers were scurrying to higher ground in the middle of the night.

The following day, everyone was looking at my friend, saying, “Will you be a little more specific next time?”

A year later, he was asked to pray for rain again at another camping event, this time numbering in the thousands. This time, he prayed specifically about how much and for how long.

Weird? I thought so too. But that night, it rained precisely how he asked for it too.

What are you specifically praying for?

What to pray for today.

God will bless our country, its leaders, upcoming elections, and the hearts of the people of America to receive an outpouring of Christ’s love and the power of the Holy Spirit.
