Drawing circles or drawing blanks?
In The Circle Maker (Amazon and Apple Books), Batterson says, “You’ve got to define the promises God wants you to stake claim to, the miracles God wants you to believe for, and the dreams God wants you to pursue. Then you need to keep circling until God gives you what He wants and He wills. That’s the goal.”
But he goes on to point out a problem. We don't know what to pray for because we don't know what we want. So instead of drawing circles, we draw blanks.
Don't just pray for healing. Pray for God to specifically heal (name the body part) entirely and wholly in Jesus' name.
Don't just pray for a better marriage. Pray for a God-honoring marriage that places Christ in the center of everything they do.
Don't just pray for a job. Pray for an opportunity to serve Christ in a place that needs to see Jesus in a real and relevant way.
I do not just pray for FFWC. I pray that God will surround us and myself with people who will lead this church into this community to be a witness for Him. That lives will be changed, marriages healed, and children and youth embrace a worldview from Scripture. That . . . Ok - the blog can't be that long. But you get the idea.
What to pray for today.
Pray that we as a church pray better prayers.
