God Is Love

Gal 3:5 I ask you again, does God give you the Holy Spirit and work miracles among you because you obey the law? Of course not! It is because you believe the message you heard about Christ.  (NLT)

Galatians 5: 5 - 6 says 5 But we who live by the Spirit eagerly wait to receive by faith the righteousness God has promised to us. 6 For when we place our faith in Christ Jesus, there is no benefit in being circumcised or being uncircumcised. What is important is faith expressing itself in love. (NLT)

1 John 4:8 tells us “God is love”.  Most people read this from their perspective, not John's. Let me help you.

John isn’t saying that God is a loving God, he is saying that God is love itself.  Now, some assume that the emotion of love is God.  This is would be incorrect because it reduces God to an emotion.

When you begin to understand God and His character better, you’ll discover that He isn’t an omnipotent being who has access to everything.  He is an omnipotent being who is everything we need.  He is healing, deliverance, miracles, wisdom, and our “all in all” 1 Cor. 15:28.

In our effort to get as close to Christ as possible must realize that it’s all about our relationship with Him.  Gal 5 tells us that our relationship with Him is based on our faith in Him.  That faith will express itself in love.  So, does your faith (trusting Him with your life) in Him proved by the love that flows out of your life?

Or to put it another way.  Does the God who is love - live within you?

Pray:  Dear Jesus, I need You!  I’m not here to get you to do something for me.  I am here to get to know You.  In Jesus' name, I pray.  Amen
