WHO IS JESUS?

In the days following up to Jesus' crucifixion, we see Him teaching, responding to challenges, and even resting. He knows what will happen, and He knows when it will happen.

But before all of that takes place, Zechariah 9:9 will be fulfilled, "Tell the city of Zion, Look, your king is coming to you!" He enters Jerusalem, revealing his identity as Messiah.

Matthew 21:8-10 8 A very large crowd spread their cloaks on the road, while others cut branches from the trees and spread them on the road. 9 The crowds that went ahead of him and those that followed shouted, "Hosanna to the Son of David!" "Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!" "Hosanna in the highest!" 10 When Jesus entered Jerusalem, the whole city was stirred and asked, "Who is this?" (NLT)

The people responded to His arrival, but they didn't understand who He was. They only understood who they wanted Him to be.

Who is Jesus to you? Do you seek to embrace Him for who He is? Your Savior, Master, Leader, Deliverer, and Healer? Most people will say, "Sure!" But here is a better question. Are you willing to submit your will to His?

The people wanted someone to save them - from Rome, not their sins. They wanted someone to lead them into prosperity - economically, not spiritually. They wanted someone to be a perfect judge - and determine that they were superior to all other nations.

This isn't what Jesus came for, and, with a bit of help from the religious leaders, they figured it out - they killed Him.

How many have we seen abandon their faith in Christ because He wasn't who they wanted Him to be?

Instead of trying to make Jesus into our image, why don't we allow Him to make us into His? (Romans scrip. Here)

Pray: Dear Jesus, forgive me for trying to make You into something that You are not. I submit my life to Your will. In Jesus' Name, I pray - AMEN.
