When Life Throws You A Curve Ball
BIBLE READING: Titus 1:5 - 9 5 This is why I left you in Crete, so that you might put what remained into order, and appoint elders in every town as I directed you— 6 if anyone is above reproach, the husband of one wife, and his children are believers and not open to the charge of debauchery or insubordination. 7 For an overseer, as God's steward, must be above reproach. He must not be arrogant or quick-tempered or a drunkard or violent or greedy for gain, 8 but hospitable, a lover of good, self-controlled, upright, holy, and disciplined. 9 He must hold firm to the trustworthy word as taught, so that he may be able to give instruction in sound doctrine and also to rebuke those who contradict it.
What does this passage mean to you?
BLOG: Recently, we watched the World Series in baseball. Well, maybe you did - I didn't even notice until it was almost over. The Houston Astros vs. The Washington Nationals.
Game 1 - Nationals!
Game 2 - Nationals!
Game 3 - Astros - Uh, Oh!
Game 4 - Astros - What's happening?
The Nationals were ahead two games, and now they were back to square one. What do you do?
I've seen many people work hard to get ahead and (blink) they are right back at square one - the beginning. What do they do then? Give up.
Galatians 6:9 And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.
DON'T GIVE UP! Here are a few things that will help you.
Failure will happen - learn from it and move one.
Know your why? If your reason is compelling enough, it will keep you going.
Get help. Some dreams are so big you need help. If you're doing it right, you'll need help.
Stay focused. Life has a way of distracting you. Don't lose focus and don't get so emotionally involved in setbacks that they steal your joy.
Games 5 and 6 went to the Nationals, and they won the World Series. What is your comeback going to look like?
PRAY: Dear Jesus, I need to come back from some setbacks. AMEN
