3 Ways To Heal From Breaking Your Heart

BIBLE READING: TITUS 1:10 - 16 10 For there are many who are insubordinate, empty talkers and deceivers, especially those of the circumcision party. 11 They must be silenced, since they are upsetting whole families by teaching for shameful gain what they ought not to teach. 12 One of the Cretans, a prophet of their own, said, "Cretans are always liars, evil beasts, lazy gluttons." 13 This testimony is true. Therefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith, 14 not devoting themselves to Jewish myths and the commands of people who turn away from the truth. 15 To the pure, all things are pure, but to the defiled and unbelieving, nothing is pure; but both their minds and their consciences are defiled. 16 They profess to know God, but they deny him by their works. They are detestable, disobedient, unfit for any good work.

What does this passage mean to you?

BLOG: Today, I had the unique opportunity to watch people as their hearts were broken one after another. The hopelessness on their faces was undeniable. But their reactions were varied. Some allowed it to devalue them. Others didn't want to accept their fate, but in the end, they had no choice. All hoped for something better, and in the end, they didn't get it.

Shame, depression, anger, stress, and pain was evident. But you might wonder who broke their heart? There are plenty of people to choose from, but there is only one answer. Themselves

We've all broken our hearts before. You know the stupid, expensive, painful, mindless mistakes. It hurts, and the price we have to pay for our mistakes only makes it worse.

Run to God, not away. Even if you have dropped a nuke into the middle of your life, don't give up. God is still there. Psalm 34:18 "The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit." Don't push Him away, quit church, or stop practicing your faith.

Forgive yourself. There is "now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus" (Romans 8:1). II Corinthians 5:17 "if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new." Allow the Holy Spirit to help you come to that place where you can let it go. No, you're not ignoring it, but at the same time, you're not worshipping it. Don't make your pain an idol.

Pray about your next step. Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.
Trusting your judgment may be what got you into trouble. Let's take those thoughts and start filtering them through God's wisdom.
- Read His Word
- Seek Godly Wisdom from others who will be honest with you.
- Pray and ask God for help. (Can't hurt)

PRAY: Dear Jesus, help me to forgive myself and move on with my life. AMEN.
