BIBLE READING: 1 Timothy 6:20 - 21 20 Timothy, guard what God has entrusted to you. Avoid godless, foolish discussions with those who oppose you with their so-called knowledge. 21 Some people have wandered from the faith by following such foolishness.
May God's grace be with you all.
What does this passage say to you today?
BLOG: 1 Corinthians 14:33 For God is not a God of confusion but of peace. . .
People can get confused. I've driven in big cities with multiple highways and lots of signs. I follow the signs only to get confused and take a wrong turn. I have honestly wondered if it wouldn't be better if the sign said, "Take the next exit to Hwy 1 at the tall building on the right." Maybe that's just me.
As we go through life, we want to make the right decisions at the right time. Enter confusion and BAM we're in a mess we wouldn't wish on our worst enemy!
God said that He isn't confused but instead brings peace to us. How can we get in on that?
LISTEN TO HIM. God is smarter than us on our best day. Reading His Word and listening to those gifted to teach His Word will help clear up a lot of confusion. Go to church AND some small group ministry. Over time the compounded effect that comes from listening helps you make better decisions.
BE PATIENT. We allow ourselves to be pushed into bad decisions. There is nothing wrong with saying, "Wait!" God said in Isaiah that if we wait on Him, He will renew our strength. Give God the time to clear your heart and head before proceeding with a decision. Time is your friend.
PRAY FOR CLARITY. When a situation doesn't present itself with clarity, I ask to blow the smoke of confusion away and help me see. Remember, Satan doesn't want you to know the truth, but God does.
BE CAREFUL WHO YOU TALK TO. Pro. 19:20 tells us to see wise counsel. Too often, we seek the counsel of people who will agree with us. Listen to those who don't agree and ask for their reasons. Their reasons will be very enlighting to your situation.
PRAY: Dear Jesus, clear the fog from my heart and mind today. AMEN
