BIBLE READING: 1 Timothy 6:3 - 5 3 Some people may contradict our teaching, but these are the wholesome teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ. These teachings promote a godly life. 4 Anyone who teaches something different is arrogant and lacks understanding. Such a person has an unhealthy desire to quibble over the meaning of words. This stirs up arguments ending in jealousy, division, slander, and evil suspicions. 5 These people always cause trouble. Their minds are corrupt, and they have turned their backs on the truth. To them, a show of godliness is just a way to become wealthy.
What does this passage mean to you today?
BLOG: Have you ever thought about your upcoming schedule and go, "Uhgggg!" Our lives are too busy, and our energy is too low. Our brains are in overdrive trying to make everything work, but our bodies are saying, "Nope, not today." Tomorrow is Sunday and the big temptation everyone faces is to skip church. What can you do to make tomorrow better?
SAY IT OUTLOUD! "I am going to church tomorrow, and it's going to be a great day!" Keeping saying it until you believe it. Now I can hear someone yelling at me right now, "You can't fake it until you make it!" I am not asking you to lie to yourself. I am asking you to make your faith bigger than your temptation. Matthew 12:34 says that we speak from our heart. Line up your heart with God's will.
PREPARE FOR A GREAT DAY! For many people the weekend is one of the most undisciplined times of the week. Monday thru Friday we know where we have to be and at what time. We know what time we need to get to bed and what time to get up. Well, schedule you weekend to give you time with your family and with God. If you're tired, get some sleep. But if you want to have a great day, then plan for it. They don't happen by accident. 1 Corinthians 14:40 But all things should be done decently and in order. Line up your body with God's will.
USE THE WORD "NO" a lot! Matthew 5:37 Let what you say be simply 'Yes' or 'No'; anything more than this comes from evil. Every time you say "Yes" to something, you are saying "No" to something else. If you say "No" to anything that would seperate you from spending time with Him, I guarentee that He will honor your decision. Line up your mind with God's will.
Hebrews 10:25 not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.
PRAY: Dear Jesus, tomorrow is going to be a great day to go to church. Help me prepare and I will come expecting to meet with You. AMEN
