Love Does

BIBLE READING: Col 3: 22 - 25 22 Slaves, obey your earthly masters in everything you do. Try to please them all the time, not just when they are watching you. Serve them sincerely because of your reverent fear of the Lord. 23 Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. 24 Remember that the Lord will give you an inheritance as your reward, and that the Master you are serving is Christ. 25 But if you do what is wrong, you will be paid back for the wrong you have done. For God has no favorites.

BLOG: I know that I highlighted this the other day, but I wanted to revisit it for a moment.

1 Cor 13:13 So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

What your love  does is more important than what you intend. Some of the greatest heartbreaks I have ever seen is unfulfilled expressions of love. Someone passes away before one has a chance to say thank you and goodbye. Someone breaks off a relationship before real love and appreciation are allowed to be expressed. So I would like to offer a few suggestions about how you show your love today.

Tell someone that you love them, even though they may not deserve it. Love is emotional, but love is first a choice.

Tell someone you love them that you may have never had a chance to say it to, or you haven't said it to in some time. You may have to think about this but try.

Tell someone you love them when they least expect it. A phone call or a text message is good. Just take a moment and do it right now.

Ask someone how they are doing? Then after they lie to you and say, "fine." Stop them and say, "I love you too much to let you do that. Tell me what is going on."

It's just a few things that you can do to brighten someone's day. But more importantly, it is a beautiful way to let someone see the love of Jesus from your heart.

PRAY: Dear Jesus, help me love someone today. AMEN
