BIBLE READING 2 Thess. 3: 1 - 5 1 Finally, dear brothers and sisters, we ask you to pray for us. Pray that the Lord's message will spread rapidly and be honored wherever it goes, just as when it came to you. 2 Pray, too, that we will be rescued from wicked and evil people, for not everyone is a believer. 3 But the Lord is faithful; he will strengthen you and guard you from the evil one. 4 And we are confident in the Lord that you are doing and will continue to do the things we commanded you. 5 May the Lord lead your hearts into a full understanding and expression of the love of God and the patient endurance that comes from Christ.
BLOG: I've been taking headshots of dancers all day. I don't mind, and I'm glad to do it.
Galatians 5:13 For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.
Now I'm no professional photographer. But I am willing to serve where I can. Helping others isn't about getting favors in return. It's about giving without expecting anything in return. How can you do that?
Begin with the end in mind. Keep your heart and motives pure before you begin.
Determine to serve and give. You're not expecting anything in return. As Paul said, do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh.
Anything you receive, a compliment or assistance, is just frosting on the cake. You're not fishing for compliments, but there is no reason to enjoy them when they come your way.
When you serve anyone else, you are blessed. But it is also an opportunity for you to let your love for them become a reality that my friend is what changes lives.
PRAY: Dear Jesus, let me love someone today just as You would. AMEN
