All You Need Is Love

BIBLE READING:  Col. 2: 20-23. 20 You have died with Christ, and he has set you free from the spiritual powers of this world. So why do you keep on following the rules of the world, such as, 21 “Don’t handle! Don’t taste! Don’t touch!”? 22 Such rules are mere human teachings about things that deteriorate as we use them. 23 These rules may seem wise because they require strong devotion, pious self-denial, and severe bodily discipline. But they provide no help in conquering a person’s evil desires

BLOG:   1 Cor 13:13 So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

Loooong hard day.  Details are not important.  What is important is how it ended.  In love.

One of my professors in Bible College quoted this verse once and said, “You’ve heard people say, you can’t take anything to heaven.  Well, their wrong.  You can take your faith, hope and love..  These things are eternal.”

It is this eternal perspective I would like to pursue for a moment.  Life is full of ups and downs, victories and defeats, mistakes that are good, band and even ugly.  But none of those things will separate you from the love of God.

Romans 8:38-39 “For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
‭‭
In your personal everyday relationships, do you allow anything to separate you from others?  Do you allow love to rule in the end?  True we may not be good and giving or receiving love.  But never allow that to be an excuse to keep you from trying.

PRAY:  Dear Jesus, help me to love everyone else today.  AMEN.
