What A Great Day!
BIBLE READING: Phil 1: 25 - 26 25 Knowing this, I am convinced that I will remain alive so I can continue to help all of you grow and experience the joy of your faith. 26 And when I come to you again, you will have even more reason to take pride in Christ Jesus because of what he is doing through me.
BLOG: I can hear someone right now growling, "What's so great about it?"
I admit. If you look at the world, we live in; there is plenty to be anxious about. That's why we don't look at our world through the eyes of newscasters, political pundits, or economic forecasters. The world you and I live in is bent to see everything with criticism, doubt, and fear.
Instead, we choose to see our day from a Biblical point of view. No, it isn't rose-colored glasses or some pie-in-the-sky-name-it-claim-it-deny-reality kind of faith. It's about submission.
Whose in charge of your life?
You? If you are in charge, then you spend most of your time trying to control your life. That means you are manipulating people and circumstances to your advantage. Because you don't have a crystal ball, you can only anticipate what you are afraid of and hope for the best. Yea that sounds like fun.
The World? If you allow the world to lead you, then you must follow it's every whim and fancy. Today we hate politicians, tomorrow we beg them to guide us. Today we love everyone; tomorrow we hate anyone who disagrees with us. If you follow the world, you don't get to use your brain.
God? If you follow God, then you already know that He loves you and He has His best intentions in mind for you right now. God is good, and He wants you to know that He cares about what you are going through and that He will never leave you or give up on you. He has a plan, a good plan. (Jer 29:11). While we may not understand everything, placing our trust in Him has never failed us.
So when Paul says in Phil. 4:4 Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again—rejoice! His reasoning is simple. Because I submit my life to the one who created me, saved me from my sins, gives me purpose - a reason for living - and loves me. I will rejoice because God is in control.
Let God be in control of your life today.
PRAY: Dear Jesus, please lead me where You want me to go today. AMEN
