God Has A Message For You

Judges 6: 8 - 10 8 the Lord sent a prophet to the people of Israel. And he said to them, “Thus says the Lord, the God of Israel: I led you up from Egypt and brought you out of the house of slavery. 9 And I delivered you from the hand of the Egyptians and from the hand of all who oppressed you, and drove them out before you and gave you their land. 10 And I said to you, ‘I am the Lord your God; you shall not fear the gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell.’ But you have not obeyed my voice.”

If you don't know, prophets were God's messenger to Israel.  If they were going off the rails, a prophet would show up and let them know.  What did this prophet have to say?

HEY, IT'S ME!  “Thus says the Lord, the God of Israel:  The prophet isn't taking credit for this message.  He is delivering it to a people who need to hear it.  When God speaks, you'll know it.  More about this later, but for right now it means, "Pay attention"!

REMEMBER WHEN?  I led you up from Egypt and brought you out of the house of slavery. 9 And I delivered you from the hand of the Egyptians and from the hand of all who oppressed you, and drove them out before you and gave you their land.   God refreshes their memory.  I was God then, and I am God now!  Often times we forget that God never changes.  If He was able to overcome our enemies and defeat the plans that come against us - He is still able to do it today.

HAVE FAITH - STOP FEAR  10 And I said to you, ‘I am the Lord your God; you shall not fear the gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell.’  When you compare anything to God - God should always win.  But often we think that our problems are bigger than our God.  Deal with the fear by applying your faith.

BUT you have not obeyed my voice.” That's a problem.  Disobedience got Isreal in this trouble.  While the Israelites thought that the Midianites were the problem as it turns out - it was only a symptom.  Their rebellion was the real issue that needed to be dealt with.

So, let me show you what you can do with this verse.  Go backward.

Pray and ask God where your life isn't lining up with His will.  Be honest and listen with a humble heart.  God will not only tell you what is wrong, But He will also show you what to do about it and accept you with His grace and mercy.

Afraid?  Pray and ask God to increase your faith.  Focus on the solution and quit staring at the problem.

Remember.  What has God done for you already?  Count your blessings and name them one by one.

God is here!  He will never leave you or give up on you.  He is doing something.  It's your responsibility to find out what it is and get on board with it.

PRAY:  Dear Jesus, I'm listening.  AMEN
