Pats vs. Rams
Here is a glimpse into my sermon tomorrow.
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
Do you know where the endzone is at?
Tomorrow, two NFL teams will play for the title of World Champion. I suspect this might be a very good game.
Now I am pretty sure that no one on the sidelines will say, "What are we here?" "What are we supposed to be doing again?" I have a feeling someone would be fired, on the spot.
I am surprised, how many followers of Jesus don't know where the end zone is? If you don't know what it is your suppose to be doing, how will you know if you are successful? This goes beyond, "doing something." This speaks to results.
If you are a teacher, is someone's life being transformed by the Word of God?
If you are a giver, is the work of the Kingdom being accomplished around you?
If you pray, do you live your life with wisdom?
Can you identify when you are in the endzone of your faith? If not, then sit down and ask God to show you what it looks like.
Then, the next time you reach the end zone - celebrate. No, I don't suggest you do an end zone dance - unless of course, you can dance. But stop and praise God for what has happened. Praise God that you are a part of His plan. Give thanks that His promises are true and that He keeps them. Believe me, God wants you to do these things. Therefore, He will do all He can to facilitate them.
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
PRAY: Dear Jesus, show me the end zone of my faith! AMEN
