Resolution Vs. Breakthrough

What do you need?  To make a resolution or do you need a breakthrough.  I'm the first to say that sometimes the two go together.  But for the purpose of this blog, let's consider this.

Often times we try to resolve our problems ourselves (resolution) instead of allowing God to intercede in our need (breakthrough).

Daniel 10:12–14  12 Then he said to me, “Fear not, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart to understand and humbled yourself before your God, your words have been heard, and I have come because of your words. 13 The prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me twenty-one days, but Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, for I was left there with the kings of Persia, 14 and came to make you understand what is to happen to your people in the latter days. For the vision is for days yet to come.”

Daniel had been praying and partially fasting for 21 days.  An angel finally shows to answer to his prayers. This angel tells Daniel that he has been detained by “the prince of the kingdom of Persia.” (A Demon) for 21 days.

Would Daniel have prayed and fasted for 21 days if he had just resolved to?  I doubt it.  Many of us understand that while our spirit is willing, our flesh is weak to fulfill its desire.  It's only when we lay our needs before Christ and trust Him with all our heart that we realize the breakthrough that we are looking for.

So what do you need today?  Another resolution or a breakthrough?

PRAYER:  Dear Jesus, encourage my faith to seek Your breakthrough in my life today.  AMEN
