NY Did What?
I don't even know what to say. My heart is grieved at the announcement of late-term abortions in New York state. I would like to rant and rave at this, but another part of me says, don't.
The preacher in me wants to preach.
Psalm 139:13-16 13 For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb. 14 I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. 15 My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. 16 Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them.
If God knows I exist before I was born, then I'm not a fetus - I'm a living being.
But the question I have to ask myself is. What is the foundation of their opinion? I know that it isn't the Word of God, but what is it?
Governor Andrew Cuomo has said, “With the signing of this bill, we are sending a clear message that whatever happens in Washington, women in New York will always have the fundamental right to control their own body.”

Before you start blowing up my email and saying nasty things I want you to know, I get it. The issue here isn't Biblical for New York lawmakers. It's about who is in control. In this case, according to Governor Cuomo, it's a woman.
Being in control is a big deal for some people. Hey, I am a reforming perfectionist, I get it. But I know this simple truth. Regardless of whether you believe that God exists or not, you are not and never will be in control of everything. It's impossible.
Now because I do believe in God and know for a fact that He exists, I can tell you that He is in control. I have seen people miraculously healed of sickness and diseases or the body and mind that doctors had declared incurable. I have seen God change peoples hearts from a life of anger to a heart of compassion overnight. I can personally attest to His presence and power in my life. So for me, letting God be in control isn't a big deal. He has been and always will be. I can either go along with Him or rebel and fight against Him.
So before I start "preaching" against anyone's sin, I need to ask myself - Is God in control of my life?
PRAY: Dear Jesus, help me to be an example to others that You can be trusted with everything. AMEN
