I remember where I was 17 years ago today.
John 14:27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.
I remember where I was when the first plane struck.
I remember where I was when the second plane struck.
I remember where I was when the towers fell.
I remember the world coming to a complete halt that day.
I remember calling for a special prayer service that night, and for a Tuesday, it was mostly full.
I remember saying in that service. "Our nation will never be the same."
I remember saying "Don't try to understand the mind behind this evil."
I remember.
I remember a nation coming together as one. Differences of opinions were set aside. We were no longer safe. But we were resolved to answer the call and defend ourselves and those too weak to protect themselves. War was on the horizon. Diplomacy was in overdrive. It was chaos.
John 14:27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.
In the midst of this tragedy, peace was discovered. In the middle of this chaos, peace was reached. Not through treaties or covert missions. That's what the world does and has to do. But through the peace giver.
In the middle of your chaos. In the middle of your worst nightmare. In the middle of your grief. In the middle of your hopelessness. In the middle of your tragedy. You can find peace. For there is a peace that doesn't rely on war or diplomacy. It's a peace that relies on your relationship with Jesus. The one who gives peace.
Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
PRAY: Dear Jesus, I need your peace in my heart today. AMEN
