So what do I mean by this?
I know people who do a lot every day. Their life is full of events, phone calls, stuff, and appointments. But when you talk about the quality of their life, all they do is complain and blame. Why do they do that? Because that's what they choose to do.
Now I am the first to tell you that life doesn't play fair. It will knock you down. Then it will kick you while you are down. Then it will try to sit on you so you can't get up. Life can be painful, and disappointing. But that doesn't mean that's what you have to choose.
So what do you do?
Deut 30:19 - 20 19 I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse. Therefore choose life, that you and your offspring may live, 20 loving the Lord your God, obeying his voice and holding fast to him, for he is your life and length of days, that you may dwell in the land that the Lord swore to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.”
First of all, choose life. Choose to live. I don't mean that you choose to exist. I'm suggesting you choose to experience everything that God has in store for you. Don't focus on the situation, focus on your Creator. The one who gives you hope.
John 1:4 In him was life, and the life was the light of men.
Live for the life giver. Jesus gives you life. When you give your life to Him, follow Him, experience His way of life for yourself, you discover who you were created to be. You will have joy in the midst of your troubles, hope in the middle of your despair and life in the face of death.
PRAY: Dear Jesus, help me to choose life. AMEN
Today is Saturday, that means you have an opportunity to worship with people who love you tomorrow. Get up and go to church. Don't let excuses keep you from the house of God.
