Patience Means To Be At Peace

Proverbs 19:11 says, “A person’s wisdom yields patience.”

Wisdom is a supernatural act God.  It comes from Him - it is a reflection of His character - and it comes from His perfection.  He sees all and knows all.

So when He says in Ps 46:10 “Be still and know that I am God.” You can rest in that.

Our perspective is past and present.  Ours is linear and experienced through time.  God perspective is past, present and future.  He sees all simultaneously.

If you don’t know, I was raised on a farm.  Like all farms there were animals.  Some were our and some were the local wildlife.  It was uncommon to see rabbits, groundhogs, deer as the occasional wolf.  But the one creature that was always around was the snake.

One day, while working in the field, my Dad yelled, “Freeze, don’t move.”  I started to protest but he said it again and I could tell by the tone of his voice that he meant it.  A few seconds later the ground near me exploded as my dad either threw a rock or something at me.  I looked down to see a Copperhead snake laying in wait to bite me.  It was now dead and I was alive because I listened.

Patience protects you.  That’s because God sees something you can’t.  When He calls you to wait, that’s because His wisdom knows how to protect you.

PRAY: Dear Jesus, help me to listen to You today. AMEN
