Moms Are Great Contractors

The wise woman builds her house, but with her own hands the foolish one tears hers down. Proverbs 14:1

I knew a wife and mother years ago whose life was taken in a car accident.  After the funeral, I was welcomed into that family home.  There I heard tales of how she built the home they were living in with leftover construction materials.  How she raised her children and provided for her family.  How she was the light and strength of their lives.

I also knew a wife and mother who taught her children how to drink, do drugs and live a promiscuous lifestyle.  From the age of 8, her children were addicted to drugs and alcohol.  By the time I met them they were just graduating from High School.  They loved their mother, but the years of abuse had soured their hearts, and they couldn't be around her anymore.

I am so blessed to have a wife and mother who strives to be the woman God created her to be.  He sacrifice and commitment are unsurpassed.  Her passion and drive are strength and light to our home.  Her wisdom and insight are invaluable, and her love for Anneka and I is unfathomable.

Build your home with the grace of God.  Use faith to build strong walls and love to hold it all together.  Apply mercy to the walls so that everywhere you look you will see the forgiveness and grace of Christ.  Speak words of life, not death, over everything you see.  Proclaim that all you have is the Lords and allow Him to provide for your needs.

PRAY:  Dear Jesus, may my home welcome the presence of God today.  AMEN
