Broken Promises.
Have you ever had to wait for a promise? We've all had to wait for something in our life.
Have you ever had to remind someone of their promise? We've all had to do that too. The results of which may or may not have worked to your favor.
Promises will be broken.
Imperfect people do imperfect things. We shouldn't be surprised by that. Broken promises will lead us to feel rejected and hurt. These feelings can lead us to become jaded and cynical. These are qualities that a follower of Jesus shouldn't embrace.
So what can you do?
Know who God is. Number 23:19 God is not man, that he should lie, or a son of man, that he should change his mind. Has he said, and will he not do it? Or has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it?
God is perfect. He never has nor will ever make a mistake. If He makes a promise, He will keep it.
Remember what God has promised you.
45 years prior God had promised to Caleb a place of his own in the promise land. He was 40 years old then. But when it was time for him to conquer his land, he wasn't deterred by his age. His faith hadn't dimmed. He was ready.

Joshua 14: 12 So now give me this hill country of which the Lord spoke on that day, for you heard on that day how the Anakim were there, with great fortified cities. It may be that the Lord will be with me, and I shall drive them out just as the Lord said.”
Caleb had to wait for God's timing. It wouldn't seem fair that he had to wait 45 years because of someone else's mistake. But he understood a simple principle. This wasn't about him. It was about the nation of Israel.
When the time came, Caleb pursed what was promised him. Are you ready to pursue what God is giving you?
PRAY: Dear Jesus, help me to pursue your will with all my heart. AMEN
