We've all had those days. I'm having one of them today. It starts out ok. Then it all goes south. Then after that, it gets nasty. After it gets that bad, BAM! It gets worse.
No, my day hasn't been that bad, but I've had a few of them in my lifetime. Sometimes you just want to scream and (insert angry comment here).
James 1:2-7 Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind.
"Count it all joy", says James. Really? I'm supposed to be happy about being in trouble? Well, maybe.

First of all, James isn't saying that if you're in any kind of trouble, you should be joyful about it. His point is that if you are faithful to Jesus, as He was to His Father, then the trouble your experiencing can be attributed to on thing. Your faith. That's right, faith can get you into trouble. If you're doing what Jesus did, then be thankful that they are treating you the same way they handled Him.
Secondly, the trials that you are going through are producing unwavering loyalty to Christ. In other words, you are following Him where He leads you.
Thirdly, if you are in trouble, but don't know what to do then ask for wisdom. God will always help those who need Him. Especially when you're in trouble.
But! Do this by faith. When you're in trouble, don't follow doubt. It will just get you into more trouble. Follow faith. It will see you through it.
PRAY: Dear Jesus, see me through my bad days, buy faith. AMEN!
