I Want To Encourage You Today

But how?

Each of us has certain gifts.  God told us so!

1 Peter 4:10 As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace:

There is no limit to the number of skills that you can learn.  But beyond that, it says that God has given us certain gifts.

Romans 12:6 - 81  Prophecy, Serving. Teaching, Exhortation, Giving, Leadership, Mercy, Helps

1 Corinthians 12:8 - 10 Word of wisdom, Word of knowledge, Faith, Gifts of healings, Miracles, Prophecy, Distinguishing between spirits, Tongues, Interpretation of tongues

Ephesians 4:11  Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Pastor, Teacher

Now all of these could use some explanation.  But that would require more than a blog post to address.  My point is this.  God created you and He gifted you for a purpose.  But what is that purpose?

THE BIG PICTURE:  To build the Kingdom of God.  Or in other words, to help people discover Jesus, accept Him into their lives and begin living their lives in such a way that it honors Him.

WHAT ARE YOU DOING?  What has God asked (or is asking you) to do for Him?  HINT: Being a spectator isn't a gift.

So how does this blog encourage you?

I want you to know that God has given you gifts.  These gifts will be an encouragement to yourself and others. That's right.  God has given you something that is uniquely and specifically yours.

Dear Jesus:  help me to discover the gifts you have placed into my life and use them to build your Kingdom.  AMEN
