Yuck!
This weather is wreaking havoc on my sinuses. It's hard to function when you don't feel well.
Being a father, husband, pastor, leader, friend and follower of Jesus really makes my day. I enjoy what I do and love every minute of it. But when I feel yucky I just want to crawl into a hole and stay there. I'm sure that there are many of you out there that feel the same way too.
Isaiah 53:5 But he was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his wounds we are healed.

Before the original sin (Adam and Eve) there was no sickness or disease. It was only after the introduction of sin that things like death and hard work were introduced to humanity. That means these things were not in God's original plan. We were not created to be sick or die. But if there is anything you and I can count on its taxes, the flu (or some other nasty bug), and death. Now, this isn't to say that because you sin, therefore you are sick. It is to say that we will feel the effects of sin on humanity until God does something about it.
Jesus came and gave His life for our sins. But you may not realize that His sacrifice also empowers Him to keep His promises. He rules over sickness, disease and even death. Now, this isn't a blog about how if you are sick then you apparently don't have enough faith. That's nonsense.
This is a blog that emphatically states that healing isn't just for the body. (I've experienced some healings.) But healing is also for the mind, soul, and spirit. There is healing for marriages and relationships. God is able to restore anything according to His will. But how do you experience God's healing power in your life?
#1 - Establish who owns what? God owns everything, even your life. Everything that you entirely give to God becomes His responsibility to take care of.
#2 - When it is broken, give it to God. Now that we have established that God owns everything, if you become sick, depressed, lose your job, or become estranged from your child. Remind God that you need Him to intervene.
#3 - Don't just sit there, do something. Pray. That's always a good idea. Sick? Go to the doctor. All knowledge and wisdom come from God. Go get some of it.
#4 - Give God credit. When God comes through, tell someone your story. Give credit where credit is due.
PRAY: Dear Jesus, here are the things in my life that are broken, sick and in need. They are yours as is everything else in my life. AMEN
