For some people, the phrase, "Believe In Yourself" causes them to break out in a rash. As if it were a mortal sin to do so.
Proverbs 3:26 For the Lord will be your confidence and will keep your foot from being caught.
In your life, some people have spoken over you. They have either declare that you will go on to do great things. Or they have said that you will account for nothing. My guess is, the latter really had a significant impact on you.
Proverbs 3:26 For the Lord will be your confidence and will keep your foot from being caught.
On our own, we are a mess. My 14-year-old daughter was sitting in the back seat of the car and said, "I read an article today that said girls mature by the age of 21, but boys don't mature until the age of 45." I don't think that was a scientifically accurate statement. But I can see some truth in it. I can't tell you how many times I messed my life up just because I wasn't mature enough to believe in myself.
#1 - Confidence in yourself is misplaced. You need Jesus' help to accomplish His will in your life.
#2 - What others think about you only impacts your ego. Confidence comes from what you believe.
#3 - Go ahead and believe in yourself. God created you!
As a kid growing up, I thought I was going to be a meteorologist. Then I discover that I had to be good in Algebra. Career over. Then I decided I was going to be a lawyer. Most people could see that one. There were some that thought I was going to be a concert pianist. That was possible too. But when Jesus said, "I want you to work for me." I asked, Why Jesus? He answered me. "Because I believe in you."
Put your faith in Him, and He will lead your life.
PRAY: Dear Jesus, I believe in me because you created me for your purpose. Teach me what that is. AMEN
