1 Month Down
Well, the first month of 2018 is about gone. What did you do, blink?
How are those new years promises you make to yourself going?
Do you have your goals for this year written down?
Have you started new habits to help you achieve those goals?
What so spiritual about this?
The world we live in treats time as abstract. Much like you or I would treat a brick or a stone. But time isn't abstract, it is a valuable gift given to us by God. We talk about being good managers of our finances but have you ever considered being a good manager of your time?
John 11:9-10 “Jesus answered, “Are there not twelve hours in the day? If anyone walks in the day, he does not stumble, because he sees the light of this world. But if anyone walks in the night, he stumbles, because the light is not in him.”
John 11:9-10 “Jesus answered, “Are there not twelve hours in the day? If anyone walks in the day, he does not stumble, because he sees the light of this world. But if anyone walks in the night, he stumbles, because the light is not in him.”
Jesus is telling his disciples that He still has some time left before His mission is accomplished. That He was going to make good use of this time and complete what He was sent to do.
What has God asked you to do while it is still day?
That's why it is so important to discover what we are supposed to be doing. Sure we have the general idea from the Bible. Worship, help people mature in their relationship with Christ, build valuable relationships with fellow believers, learn to serve others and share the Good News of Jesus. But what? Ask God for that direction and discover. Let His will direct you through 2018.
Pray and ask God for His specific will in your life. Entertain anything from Him. Dismiss nothing. Ask Him to confirm it. Don't be afraid, God understands how everything turns out. God doesn't set you up to fail. Don't abandon Him.
PRAY: Dear Jesus, what do you want me to do in 2018? AMEN
