Winter Has Arrived!

It was warm this morning.

Then it rained.

Now it is cold!

It is getting colder!!!

Only in Florida will you hear thunder in the morning and be turning on the heat by nightfall.

Winter has arrived.

For those of you who live north of me, you have spring, summer, fall, and winter.
For those of us who live in Florida, we have hot, hurricane, snowbird and spring.

But this got me to thinking, how many more winters do I have?

Psalm 103:15-16 As for man, his days are like grass; As a flower of the field, so he flourishes. When the wind has passed over it, it is no more, And its place acknowledges it no longer.

I'm 54.  My mom is 83.  My grandfather died at 98.  His brother and sisters lived to be older.  So it is conceivable I've got a few more winters left in me.  But I don't have that many left with my daughter who will leave home in a few years.  I have fewer as a pastor than I did.

Now stop yourself before you get depressed.  I had to.

Ephesians 5:16  making the best use of the time because the days are evil.

Our days, left on their own, will only bring us bad news.  But if we will change our point of view from the past to the future then we can change everything.  Move from being pessimistic to being optimistic. Leave selfishness behind and start serving it will change everything.

What you do with your time is your choice.  While some decisions force us to make other decisions that spend our time, (like buying a car - now you have to keep your job to make the payments), you can enjoy the time that you have.  How?

#1 - Choose how you react to life instead of allowing life telling you how to respond.  This one simple action will relieve a lot of stress.
#2 - Trust God with your life.  When it seems that everything is coming apart at the seams, He's in control.
#3 - Don't take no for an answer.  I'm talking about you.  Quit telling yourself, "No I can't do that."  Don't be your own worst enemy.

PRAY:  Dear Jesus, help me to make the best use of my time today for You.  AMEN
