Finding Hope

Rags to riches stories always intrigue us - as long as we are not the one in rags.

There are moments of deep despair we are tempted to give up and lose hope.  When we think that life, family, friends, and even God have given up on us.

Psalm 31:24 Be strong, and let your heart take courage, all you who wait for the Lord!

We've heard the stories how Andrew Carnegie, Oprah Winfrey, Sam Walton, Rocky Balboa, and others came back from unbelievable odds to become household names.  Then we think, when will it be my turn?

You can find hope now!

Instead of trying to go from rags to riches why not go from rags to hope.  Hope is free.  You can have it every day of your life.  It isn't some kind of elusive mystery that requires the skills of a CSI to discover.  It's right in front of you.  It's all around you.  Where, you ask?  Everywhere!

You and I live in a cynical world that is filled with racism, hate, violence and the such.  Jesus said that life would be like this in Matthew 24.  He was making a simple point.  The world and its condition will never be perfect.  He wanted us to go out there and do what He wants us to do.  Live for Him.  Let others know that there is hope.  That this world will make big promises that it will break.  But Jesus will make and keep His promises to you.

He promised to forgive you of your sins if you ask.
He promised to prepare a place in heaven for you, if you follow Him.
He promised to be there for you in every need of your life.  If you will trust Him.

You see - NO - do you see!  Do you see the hope?  Turn off the news, ignore your newsfeed.  Look to the author of hope if you want it.

PRAY:  Dear Jesus, I need hope today.  AMEN
