Is Absentmindedness a Gift?

What do you mean I didn't blog yesterday?

That's what I thought to myself this morning as I sat down to my computer.  I thought I did.  If you  asked me I would have said, "Yes I did!"  But the evidence is right there in front of me.  No - I didn't

Have you ever thought that you had a gift to be absent-minded?  I have, more than once.

2 Cor 12: 7 - 10 7 So to keep me from becoming conceited because of the surpassing greatness of the revelations, a thorn was given me in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to harass me, to keep me from becoming conceited. 8 Three times I pleaded with the Lord about this, that it should leave me. 9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10 For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

Some believe that Paul was talking about this bad eyesight (thorn in the flesh) for there were no glasses in those days.  He prayed that God would deliver him and God said, NO!  He did this to keep him humble.

Have you ever forgot a name?  Did you forget your car keys?  Have you drove to work (12 miles) only to drive back because you forgot your office keys? (I really don't like that one.)  Have you . . . ?  Of course, you have.

But there is good news!  “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”

Forgetfulness might be an inconvenience, but we all have our weaknesses.  We try to hide them, excuse them and even get rid of them.  Paul says, boast in them!  "Hey!  I'm weak, and the only thing that keeps me from blowing my life up is Jesus!" Well, that is quite an honest statement, but let's be honest - IT'S TRUE!  Give Jesus' your weaknesses and let Him go to work on your life.

PRAY:  Dear Jesus, don't let me forget to let you have my weaknesses today!  AMEN
