Things I Appreciate After Hurricane Irma

Well, no blog yesterday.  I decided to blog from the house, but forgot, no internet.  So, sorry about that.

Ephesians 5:20 Giving thanks always and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

But today is a new day.  So here is my list, in no particular order.

Coffee - My comfort food
Daylight - Shutters have to come down!  No daylight = depressing.
Gasoline - The thought of going empty with no gas is frightening.
Electric - No I didn't lose mine at the house, that's why I am thankful.
Internet - Don't have any and I really, really miss it.
Family - Being locked up in the house with them can drive you crazy.  But I wouldn't trade anything in the world for it.
Reading - This goes to no internet.  I read off my iPad.  No internet, no iPad.
Prayer - Prayers were short and real during the hurricane.  "Oh, Jesus!!!" was said, a lot!
Hot Food - After a few days of eating hurricane food a hot meal was wonderful!
Neighbors - People who ask, "Are you ok?" is actually quite comforting.
Air Conditioning - We are spoiled.  But without it is miserable.
And Church - Seeing friends and worshipping God together is such an important part of life.  I really missed last Sunday.

What's on your list?

If your list isn't as far as mine is right now, don't worry.  Life will return to normal.  After living through enough of these events, I can tell you that everyone is different.  But there will be points of joy in your future where you will give thanks for a hot hamburger or a flash of internet signal.

PRAY:  Dear Jesus, I am counting my blessings today.  AMEN
