Hurricane Panic
We've dealt with stress. We've dealt with exhaustion. Now we deal with panic.
The best way to deal with panic is to prepare for it. I mean the panic.
So, let's deal with it.
The best way to deal with panic is to prepare for it. I mean the panic.
So, let's deal with it.
#1 - Limit how much information you listen to. Find one or two good sources and check on them periodically. Listening to a consent stream of screaming will only push you over the edge.
#2 - Take time to calm yourself. You push and push and push. Then you look in the eyes of your kids and see the panic. Take the time to calm your nerves and theirs too. Being honest is ok, but don't panic.
#3 - 1 Peter 5:7 casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.
Prayer works. I know you are praying that God will push this thing out to sea. Some of you might even be railing at Him right now for letting this happen. It's normal. God isn't offended. But He would like to help. We'll pray in a minute.
#4 - Forgive yourself. You've done all you can do, but you might think to yourself, "I could have . . . I should have . . ." Let it go. You're going to make it.
PRAY: Dear Jesus, I throw all my problems at you. I need your help. AMEN
