Saying No To Jesus?

John 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

On occasion, someone will declare to me that they do not believe that placing one's faith in Christ is the only way to heaven.   Notice I said, declare not debate.  That's ok, Jesus gives everyone a choice to accept or reject Him.  But I have often wondered, "Why was it important for them to tell me that?"  

Some people want me to know that they think I'm a religious fanatic. 
Some people want me to know that they think I've got it wrong. 
Some people want me to know that they found another way to heaven and they don't need my help. 

Now the theological implications that Jesus got it wrong here is staggering.  Too much to dive into right now.  But either Jesus is a liar, and lunatic or He can save us from our sins.  Now obviously I agree with the latter. 

I have a real relationship with Christ that meets my needs every day. 
I have experienced His presence and power in my life - frequently. 
I have seen genuine miracles and wonders that only He can get the credit for. 
I can go on.  

So my point?  You can choose to believe or reject John 14:6.  But I know that it is true because I have experienced it for myself.  Have you?  

PRAY:  Dear Jesus, I want to experience you today.  AMEN

Today is Mothers Day.  On this day:  More people purchase fresh flowers and plants for Mother's Day than for any other holiday except Christmas/Hanukkah. In 2019, the National Retail Federation (NRF) estimates that US consumers will spend $25 billion celebrating Mother's Day. Shoppers will spend an average of $196.00 on Mom. Betty doesn’t like me blogging about her too much. So let me go with one more for now and let you see a bit of her heart.  She doesn’t like the world any better now than when she gave birth to Anneka. (Neither do I.)   If you think that’s a strange thing to say, you’re right. But let me explain myself.  The idea that a child will make your world a better place isn’t accurate. Stop shouting at the screen. Just keep reading.   Before we got pregnant, both of us had enough wisdom to understand what we were doing, in as much as we knew that this would change our lives.  Would it be for the better? That was the plan.  Would it enrich our lives? We hoped so.   But to think that a child would turn our world into a magical place of perfection and joy was never a thought.   If anything, the world worked against us from day one. (Still is.)
