I'm Not Happy

Anneka received an immunization shot today.  Her arm is SORE which was followed by the statement, "I'm Not Happy.", which is code for, "I want a milkshake."

If you expect the government to make you happy - you're going to get disappointed.
If you expect your marriage to make you happy - you're going to get disappointed.
If you expect your career to make you happy - you're going to get disappointed.

Today, on Facebook, one of my friends asked this question.  If "Pride goes before destruction," WHAT comes before success?  I was intrigued by many of the answers such as Humility and rebuilding,  Preparation and work, and Tacos.  Another person wrote, "Failure, Failure, a bunch of experimentation, more failure, persistence, clinical depression, a little bit of hope, a ton more hard work.........and then success." "Hard work, perseverance, learning, studying, sacrifice."

All great answers, (Yea, I don't get the Taco one either, but I like tacos.)

Here is one that wasn't on the list.  Faith.  Not just any faith, the faith to attack your fears directly.

Philippians 4:6 do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.

How do you face your fears?

#1 Pray.  If you want to change your life - pray about it!
#2 Supplication.  That means you should get serious about letting God know what is bothering you.
#3 Thanksgiving.  What?  Am I to give thanks about the bad things I am experiencing?  Yes, and here's why.
- God will come through.  God keeps His promises.  Focus on the promise's not the problem.
- You will not be defeated.  It will take hard work, failure, humbling one's self, persistence, learning, sacrifice and more.

Your happiness isn't dependent upon your circumstances.  Your happiness is dependent upon your relationship with Jesus.

Yes, Anneka did get her milkshake.

PRAY:  Dear Jesus, help me to discover your happiness today.  AMEN.
