From Abraham to John, every writer of the Bible saw something that didn't make sense. Something that could be comprehended nor understood. But they all had one thing in common. Vision.
- Abraham saw a great nation.
- Moses could see the promise land
- Isaiah could see a coming Messiah
- Jesus could see Him returning in the Rapture.
- John could see the end of the world as we know it. (Ok, some things are just scary!)
Does that kind of vision still exist today? YES IT DOES! While many movements and churches have determined that everything that can be known - is known. That everything that can be done - has been done. That there is nothing new to say or do. God is still placing vision in the hearts of those who want to see!
How else can you explain a Reinhard Bonnke who envisioned millions of Africans accepting Jesus? How can you explain a Joel Osteen who envisioned tens of thousands of people in one church? How can you explain a David Yonggi Cho who founded and pastors the Yoido Full Gospel Church in South Korea, the world's largest congregation with a membership of 1,000,000?
Vision! God given vision to see something that no one else sees. How can you have this kind of vision? Simply, it is by faith. To believe that God has gifted you to do something bigger and greater than the sum of your talents or skills. To believe that God will do something through you that will make a difference in the lives of those who don't know Him as their Savior. To believe that God will show you something that gives you a reason to live!
What is MY vision?
- As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. To enjoy a healthy marriage and family that honors God with its existence. To raise our daughter in a pastors home where she learns to serve God with all of her heart, soul and spirit.
- To Elevate Jesus Christ in the lives of those whom I have the privilege to pastor and lead. To elevate people, ministers, pastors and churches.
- To reach Florida, especially South Florida, with the good news of Jesus!
Vision may be simple to explain - but there is nothing simple about vision. Elevating people is what Jesus did while on this earth. He elevated the 12 - He elevated thousands - He elevated you and me! That was 2,000 years ago and we are still talking about it! Let's believe for and discover a new hope through Jesus together.
