Which Road Are You On? Part 3

Sorry for today's delay. Been catching up all morning.

So which road are you on? Well most of you would probably say that you are on the road from the Cross to the Rapture. I want to get it to that little more next week. (Getting ready for Sunday is going to occupy the rest of my day and weekend)

What I see a lot of people do is this? They take the cross (accepting Jesus into their lives) and try to put it on the road from Birth to Death.

This doesn't work. It never has and it never will. When we take what Christ intended for us and try to make it fit our life, all we do is create godless religion. 2 Timothy 3: 1 - 4 1 But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. 2 People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3 without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, 4 treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with them. (NIV 84)

How we behave on the road from Birth to Death (the verses you just read) is completely different on how we behave on the road from the Cross to the Rapture. COMPLETELY DIFFERENT!

Now that I have said that - I let you in on a some hope for you. Yes, Jesus expects you to live on the road from the Cross to the Rapture, but He knows that it is a process that takes time. What He expects from you are your best efforts to line up with His Word. But He also expects you to accept His presence and the Holy Spirit into your heart and life. He knows, as do many Christians, that you cannot do this on your own. You need His help. Giving or yielding your life to Him is the only way that you can life on the road from the Cross to the Rapture successfully.

I see to many Christians leave churches, change denominations even change their theology to fit their "idea" of what a Christian is or should be. They deflect the blame on to a denomination, a church, a pastor, the people or some excuse. All the while their frustration isn't because these things failed, it's all because they are on the wrong road. To simple you say? Thank about it.

More next week.
