Hope Killers - Part 1

So just how can you kill hope?

Give more attention to the problem and don't focus on the solution. When we get in trouble and need hope, we need to be focusing on what Jesus is going to do instead of what happened.

Alexander Graham Bell said, "When one door closes, another opens; but we often look so long and so regretfully upon the closed door that we do not see the one which has opened for us." God helps us. He is our solution. But if we are so focused on our problems that we cannot see God or His opportunity for our life - we lose hope. Satan would love it if you spent all your time looking for him in every problem and situation that comes up in your life. Don't give him more attention than you have to. If you see him at work, that's good enough. You don't have to try to figure out how he did it or what is going on.

Now I know that this rubs some people the wrong way. Why? There has been some theology that goes around and says, A) You need to figure out what the devil is doing then B) pray against it. I can tell you from personal experience that A takes a lot of time and buy the time that you get to B it's usually to late. Now get this and it will change your life forever. The solution to Satan's attacks on your life are always the same. Jesus. Apply generous amounts of hope to the situation and Satan will flee. James 4:7Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Apply Christ's blood and declare by faith that your hope is in Christ. Rev. 12:11 They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony .... Nowhere in the Gospels do you find Christ trying to figure out how the Devil did it - He just deals with it.

When hell is doing it's best to drag you down. Apply your hope in Christ to your life and watch Satans grip begin to slip.
