Place Your Faith

So I was awaken with this thought. Where do you place your faith? I immediately answered, "With You God!" As the Holy Spirit speaks to my heart in the quietness of the morning when nothing else matters and the day isn't screaming for my attention - I get it. Placing ones faith in God means to trust Him with my faith. Here are a few things about faith that I have discovered over time.

God give it to ME! Wow that is something else that God gives something to me. What an awesome idea that the Creator of the heavens and universe (Think about it - He made dirt!!) gives me something that He owned, created, and possessed for Himself. it isn't like God takes faith from one person and gives it to another. He gives you and me something that was once His and it is now ours! Unique, specific, and qualified to our needs and demands of life. Now what do you do with it?

Most people will say, "Believe for more!!" "Pray and let God be God!" "Rejoice that God has given you such a great gift!" But to be quite honest I don't see it that way. I would advise you to get rid of it as fast as possible. Unload it, get rid of it, move it out of here! The question you have to ask yourself is, "Do you trust God?" If your answer is, "Sure I do!" Then give your faith away. "But the ink isn't even dry on the title to my faith?" This is the best possible moment to give it back to God. Why? What are you going to do with your faith? What is it really worth if you don't give it to God? Nothing! Faith is worthless unless it is in the hands of God.

I have seen people wear their faith like a t-shirt and parade around letting others know, "I have faith!" I've seen some bottle it up, then whisper under their breathe, "Precious! Precious! I have my precious!!" (Reference Lord of the Rings if you don't understand that one.) The question is, do you trust God? What is God going to do with your faith? Now all of a sudden that gift He gave you that meant so much now seems to pitiful, poor, worthless. We say things like, "Oh I really don't have much faith." "I can't believe God for something so great." Now God didn't give your enough faith, or faith good enough to meet the need? This doesn't make any sense!

If God can create dirt from nothing. Then He can take our faith, which is something more than nothing, and do anything with it. Lamentations 3:22-23 22 Because of the LORD's great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. 23 They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.
