2 days for the price of one

You know your day is too busy when you don't even have time to blog. Wow, was yesterday a whirlwind experience. But we got Anneka signed up for homeschool - this is going to be fun. She starts K5 which is equal academically to first grade. She is excited. So let me see if I can give you two days blessing in one

Romans 3 contains the famous verse, "...for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." Justice is something that we hear about and care about all the time. We want to do what is right and we want people to treat us the same. The world we live in really does believe in the golden rule, whether they know it or not. The problem is, injustice happens. Life isn't fair. Someone hurts us and may do so knowingly and willingly. We catch them, confront them and they say, "So what?" Where is the justice in that? How can we right the wrong? The truth is, we can't. When someone shouts out, "Justice has been served here!" I doubt it. That's because only God can bring real justice to our lives.

Read Romans 3:23-26 "All have sinned" - that's us! .."and are justified freely by his grace . . . through faith in his blood." In other words we are forgiven and what was wrong in our hearts was replaced with what is right. There isn't any judge or lawyer anywhere on this planet that can do that. We cannot "make" people right. They have to choose. We choose to make our lives right when we accepted Jesus into our lives.

So how is it that people can get so lost and confused in this world? Look at verse 20 "Therefore no one will be declared righteous in his sight by observing the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of sin." The moral code of God doesn't save us. In other words, just doing what the Bible says alone isn't going to save us from sin and an eternity in hell. The moral code of God only tells us when we have sinned and how we did it. Grace and forgiveness makes our wrongs right. Mess with the code and you mess with peoples understand of right and wrong. So, does your heart line up with God's moral code? Don't know? Pick up His Word and learn. It's what every Christian has done before you and what every Christian after you will have to do.
