Prayer Changes Lives

Prayer may be one of the most misunderstood aspects of one's faith in Jesus.

Some people see it as a magic formula to make their life more comfortable.
Some people see it as an emergency pull cord, only to be used in extreme circumstances.
Some people see it a religious ritual that is performed to please God.
Some people see it a way to connect to God in a meaningful way.

Philippians 4:6-7 6 do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

A young husband called me one night; his wife had left him.  It was a mess.  We prayed, for one year. God did a miracle and saved the marriage.

An elderly man came forward during a church service and asked us to pray for him.  He had prostrate cancer.  We prayed and one month later he was cancer free.

A businessman asked me to lunch one day.  His business was failing, but that wasn't what was bothering him.  He felt that he was in the wrong business and needed God's wisdom to make the right decisions.  We prayed.  God answered his prayer and has been a very successful business man for over 20 years now.

A mother's son was addicted to drugs and alcohol.  She asked our church to pray.  Within a week the young man requested to be placed in a long-term recovery program.  He is doing very well today.

Prayer changes lives.  Who are you praying for today?

PRAY:  Dear Jesus,  who should I be praying for today and how should I pray for them?  AMEN
