You Better Believe It

In my office, there is a sign that hangs on my wall.

What do I believe in?  No matter what I say, some will say.
- Great!  I believe in that too.  But someone else will say.
- Really?  You believe in that?  Then someone else will say.
- No, I don't believe you.

What I believe in gives me strength and purpose.  It focuses my efforts and gives me direction.

Do you know what you believe in?  If your belief system changes from day to day, if your values are "negotiable," and if your purpose for living isn't clear and worth believing in chances are your life is a tumultuous mess.

John 14:12-14 “Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do, because I am going to the Father. Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it.

Jesus said that if we would believe in Him, He would give us direction and focus.  That our lives would matter and account for something.

Next week is Passion week.  I will be blogging about what Jesus did the week before his death and resurrection.  But think about this.  If Jesus didn't believe in what He was doing, do you think He would have followed through with it?

PRAY:  Dear Jesus, I believe in you.  Let that belief impact every area of my life.  AMEN
