He's Alive!

Matthew 28:1 Now after the Sabbath, toward the dawn of the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to see the tomb.

The women and the disciples were not expecting Jesus to come back from the dead.  Even though He told them that He would, they just didn't understand.  So the women are expecting Jesus to be in the tomb.

As you go to church this morning, what do you expect?  Are you coming to see a tomb?  Or are you coming to see Jesus?  Are you going expecting to receive what you have always received from your annual Easter celebration?  Or on this day are you expect more?  Are you expecting to meet the King of kings and the Lord of lords?

Matthew 28: 9 And behold, Jesus met them and said, “Greetings!” And they came up and took hold of his feet and worshiped him.

The Gospel isn't built on an empty tomb, it is built on a risen Savior.  Because Jesus has risen from the dead, He is now able to keep every promise He made.  He paid your price for your sins and now offers your forgiveness freely if you will believe.

That belief goes far beyond forgiveness.  Most people think that forgiveness is the end of the story.  No, it is only the beginning.  Allowing your belief in Christ to influence every area of your life not only brings hope, but it brings purpose.  Jesus didn't die on a cross just to save you, He died to change you too.

PRAY:  Dear Jesus, I worship You today!  Thank you for dying on the cross and walking out of that tomb just for me.  AMEN

If you can - go to church.   If you are in the Palm City area, go to Faith Family Worship Center in Palm City.  When you are here, you are home.
