Have you repented yet today?

In my devotional book, Sifted by Wayne Cordeiro, I learned about Hudson Taylor.  Hudson was one of the first missionaries to set foot in China in the late 1800s,  He used to greet people by asking, “Have you repented yet today?”

Acts 2:38 And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Hudson understood that a repenting man is a healthy man.  Repentance has a powerful effect on our body, mind, and soul.  Repentance forces you to examine yourself with God's standard.  While some look at this as a painful process they would prefer to avoid, it is actually a healing process that they need to embrace.

#1 - Body - Repentance leads us to take care of our physical bodies as God so desires.
#2 - Mind - Repentance helps us unload anxieties and memories that would otherwise torture us.
#3 - Soul - Repentance keeps our relationship with Jesus in its proper place.

Have you repented today?

PRAY:  Dear Jesus, show me where to repent and change my life.  I want to be more like you.  AMEN
