Don't Chicken Out

I asked someone the other day what their 2017 resolutions were going to be.  Their answer, "My resolution for 2017 is to make no resolutions for 2017."

Chicken.

Now I am the first to acknowledge that our success rate at keeping resolutions isn't very high.
- 45% of Americans usually make New Year's Resolutions.
- 8% of people are successful in achieving their resolution.
- 24% never succeed and fail on their resolution each year.

Here are a top ten list of the resolutions that you can make this year.
1. Lose Weight
2. Getting Organized
3. Spend Less, Save More
4. Enjoy Life to the Fullest
5. Staying Fit and Healthy
6. Learn Something Exciting
7. Quit Smoking
8. Help Others in Their Dreams
9. Fall in Love
10. Spend More Time with Family

Luke 14:28-31   28 For which of you, desiring to build a tower, does not first sit down and count the cost, whether he has enough to complete it? 29 Otherwise, when he has laid a foundation and is not able to finish, all who see it begin to mock him, 30 saying, ‘This man began to build and was not able to finish.’ 31 Or what king, going out to encounter another king in war, will not sit down first and deliberate whether he is able with ten thousand to meet him who comes against him with twenty thousand?

Do you want to live your life, raise your family, have a happy marriage and secure your future?  Then you need a plan.  Life doesn't happen by accident.  So what can you do?

#1 - Make a list of possible resolutions.  Think about where you are at and where you want to be one year from now.

#2 - We will talk about that tomorrow.

PRAY:  Dear Jesus, show me what I need to change in my life.  Even if it seems impossible, I know that you will help me with that.  AMEN.
